Quick answer: An image resizer changes a picture to the exact pixel size a platform wants, either cropping the edges to fill the frame or keeping the whole image on a colored background. This one runs in your browser, so your image is never uploaded.

How to use it

Choose an image, then pick a size from the list or enter your own. Decide whether to fill the frame or keep the whole image, choose a background for any empty space, and select a file format. Check the preview, then press Download.

How to read your result

The scale shows how much your image was shrunk or enlarged. Anything near or below 100% will look sharp. If it’s much higher than 100%, the image was stretched to fit and may look soft, so start from a larger original if you can.

Which size to use where

  • Square post (1080 × 1080). Works for most feed posts.
  • Portrait post (1080 × 1350). Takes up more of the screen in a feed than a square does.
  • Story, Reel, or TikTok (1080 × 1920). Full-screen vertical.
  • Pinterest pin (1000 × 1500). A 2:3 vertical ratio, the commonly recommended shape for pins.
  • Link preview (1200 × 630). The wide image that shows when a page is shared.
  • YouTube thumbnail (1280 × 720). The standard 16:9 size.
  • Product cover (1600 × 2000). A 4:5 shape that suits ebooks, planners, and printable covers.

Platform requirements change over time, so check the platform’s current guidance if an upload is rejected.

Tip: Use Keep the whole image for covers and text-heavy graphics, so nothing gets cropped off. Use Fill the frame for photos, where losing the edges rarely matters.

FAQ

What size should a Pinterest pin be?

A 2:3 ratio such as 1000 × 1500 pixels is the commonly recommended size, and it’s one of the presets in this tool.

Does resizing an image reduce its quality?

Making an image smaller usually looks fine. Making it larger can look soft because the extra pixels are estimated, so start from the biggest original you have.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing happens in your browser, so the image stays on your device.

Should I save as PNG, JPG, or WebP?

PNG keeps sharp text and transparency, JPG makes smaller files for photos, and WebP is a smaller modern format that most current browsers and platforms accept. If you’re unsure, use PNG for graphics and JPG for photos.
